These lock-downs have taken us back to a slower pace of life with contentment and reflection. I hope that we stay in the present and accept that our futures are driven by bigger powers than ourselves. Christmas is about the birth of a child into poverty. His Christmas presents arrived late. The goats probably ate his bedding. He did not live very long in our 4 dimensional world. Heaven knows which dimensions he lives in now. He turned the world’s values upside down. For instance, “The greatest among you are the ones who serve.” If you want to show people who is in charge, wash their feet. A greater challenge than the present disease and uncertainty about the future is fear. “Perfect love displaces fear.” Easy to say but hard to practise. Let’s be patient, this year will one day be a memory. There are casualties but also many stories of kindness and love.
